Introduction to Drawing for Beginners at The Metropolitan Museum of Art
October 14 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Drawing New York is thrilled to work with Metropolitan Museum Educator, Alayna Wiley to offer: Introduction to Drawing for Beginners at The Met.
Enjoy 2 hours of drawing in the Museum on Saturday evening when the galleries are quiet and we can focus on our work together. Session are limited to 9 students.
Class begins with a discussion on drawing materials, including our paper and pencils, what they do and how we use them. After that students will learn how to draw using simple forms to represent objects.
Students should expect their work to improve dramatically during the course of this session.
The class will move to the Asia Art galleries where students will practice these new techniques on a more finished drawing.
Working with Ms. Wiley, students will be able to understand the objects history and context while learning to draw.
Materials: Please bring an 11×17 drawing pad, a 2h, 2b and 6b pencil, and an eraser.
Meeting Point: Gallery #162 Roman Sculpture Hall
Please note: Museum admission is not included in the cost of the class. The Metropolitan Museum operates using a Suggested Donation model.
This class is not affiliated with The Metropolitan Museum.
